NH Cannabis Bill Hearings February 10th 2026 – Here is How You Can Help
Hearings Scheduled for 2/10/26
Three cannabis bills have been scheduled for hearings in Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, February 10th, 2026. These hearings will take place in State House Room 100 in Concord (107 North Main Street in Concord NH):
- 1:30PM: SB 624 (Gannon) Relative to Restricting Access to Certain Hemp-Derived Products. This bill would prohibit the possession and sale of hemp-derived products containing more than .3% total THC. The penalty for possession would be a violation for a first offense ($100) fine and a class B misdemeanor carrying a fine of “not less than $300” for second and subsequent offenses. Retailers selling these products would face harsher penalties. Notably, the penalties in this bill are more severe than the penalties for possessing small amounts of “marijuana” (under the decrim law, cannabis possession can’t be charged as a misdemeanor until the 3rd offense). This bill would not fix the THCA loophole or the edible products loophole, so it would not be effective if the goal is to prohibit all hemp-derived THC products. NHCann does not support this bill.
- 1:40PM: SB 650 (Rochefort) Relative to use of hemp-derived CBD in products for therapeutic purposes by alternative treatment centers.
- 2:00PM: HB 186 (Howard) would waive the $50 patient registration fee for veterans who apply to the Therapeutic Cannabis Program.
How You Can Help
It’s very important that legislators hear from both residents wanting legalization and patients who would be affected by these bills. Here are four ways you can make an impact:
(1) Sign in to indicate your position to the committee.
It’s easy to sign in and register your position on a bill from home. Just visit the Senate’s remote sign-in page and follow the guidance here to submit testimony (support or oppose). You can do this now or anytime before the public hearings.
(2) Testify at the hearing or submit comments remotely.
If you’d like to testify in person, you can sign up in the committee room before the hearings. Due to time constraints, it’s best to limit testimony to no more than three minutes per person.
If you’d like to submit written testimony or simply share your comments with the committee, you can do so via the committee email list here.
(3) Call or email your Senator.
If you don’t already know your state Senator, you can look them up and find their contact information here. Sending a personal email takes more time than signing in via the web portal, but it is well worth doing.
You can also call your Senator and share your thoughts on these bills.
IMPORTANT: If you decide to testify at the public hearing or communicate with elected officials, please be courteous and respectful. Elected officials tend to respond unfavorably if advocates seem disrespectful.
(4) Tell your friends
Do your friends care about sensible and compassionate cannabis policies? If so, please share the link to our blog and encourage them to take action.
