A Cannabis Champion in the Senate? It Could Happen. Meet Carlos Cardona.

A Cannabis Champion in the Senate? It Could Happen. Meet Carlos Cardona.

We’ve recently received information from District 2 NH Senate candidate Carolos Cardona that not only is he a firm supporter of cannabis legalization, but if elected, he could be a champion for cannabis in the NH Senate. Something the effort has been truly missing. As such, we wanted to bring this to your attention.

As always, due to election laws we do not officially endorse political candidates. However, it is part of our job to ensure pro cannabis candidates are highlighted to the pro cannabis legalization residents of the Granite State.

District 2: Represents: Ashland, Belmont, Campton, Center Harbor, Gilford, Holderness, Laconia (Wards 1-6), Meredith, New Hampton, Sanbornton, Sandwich, and Thornton.

Below is the full unedited message from Carlos.

A Cannabis Champion in the NH Senate

Now more than ever and even further reinforced by the NH Senate’s mean-spirited vote earlier this month to sustain the governor’s veto of greenhouse cultivation legislation that would have simply helped our therapeutic cannabis operators cut costs and be more competitive with other states, it’s vital that we come together to elect a true cannabis champion to the NH Senate, and not rely on the current crop of milquetoast Democrats to carry our banner.

CARLOS CARDONA, a progressive Democrat challenging freshmen anti-cannabis Republican Tim Lang in Senate District 2 is just such a champion. In addition to proactively supporting our interests, he’ll be the first NH Senator to enthusiastically promote and sponsor our common-sense initiatives.

We have brought this campaign against the odds to within striking distance of winning. And now a master stroke exclusive opportunity to push the campaign across the finish line has presented itself, and we need your support at this critical juncture to accomplish it.

Our campaign has reserved the exclusive center 4-pg gatefold in the Oct 31st Voter Guide edition of the Laconia Daily Sun (LDS). This will be more impactful than even two direct mailings to the 12,000 persuadable voters in our district at a cost of $25,000. And rather than printing and inserting our 4-pg brochure (at a cost of upwards of $1.00/pc), the newspaper’s publisher recommended this greatly superior approach as much more impactful and cost-effective. (A copy of the gatefold ad appears below.)

The LDS is circulated to roughly 30,000 adults daily (Tuesday– Saturday) including 9 of the 12 towns in our district and the 3 they don’t cover (Sandwich, Thornton and Campton) are already strongly pro cannabis legalization towns. So,the coverage is perfect for us. Nearly every voter in Senate District 2 will read this paper, will likely retain a copy for reference, and no-one opening the paper will miss our powerful, winning message. Plus, the LDS is not behind a paywall, so many readers simply access it online, which wouldn’t include inserts. Since this issue is being published on Oct 31st (5 days before Election Day), our opponent will have no time to counter.

Our campaign has been honored with many key endorsements, including Planned Parenthood, Sierra Club, NEA-NH, NH Cannabis Party, LGBTQ+ Victory Fund and numerous others.

Whether you can afford to contribute $5 or $1000, please help us take advantage of this exclusive opportunity to send our champion to Concord. This is truly the single most cost-effective NH pro-cannabis legalization political investment you could make.

BE SURE TO MARK THIS RACE DOWN IF YOU LIVE IN DISTRICT 2!
